I created this artwork to serve as a solution for a surprisingly complex problem: “what to cook for dinner ?”. I thought of a way to help my mother as she complained about this daily occuring dilemma.
By using some daily items I created the 7pm oracle.
The oracle functions in the following way: first one chooses a chopstick from the plastic sieve on the top. Each chopstick has a different number written on it. Based on this number one chooses the matching paper card from the plastic box on the foot of the oracle. Each paper has a recipe written on it in the form of a poem. Each recipe also contains information on whether it is hard or easy to prepare. Alltogether there are 80 recipe-poems.
