Typhoon Maria was formed on the evening of the 4th of July this year, and the Central Weather Bureau issued a maritime warning on the night of the 9th. In the morning of the 10th, it continued to approach Taiwan from the north and northeast.
In addition to preparing dry food, I prepared to record the traces of the typhoon movement. I hung a pencil from a string from my balconies roof and placed drawing paper underneath it on the balconies floor, as I wanted the typhoon to record its movement on the drawing paper. The pencil was moved through a plastic bag that caught the wind under the approaching typhoon. The typhoon never made landfall, which reduced the intensity of the winds and therefore preserved the drawing paper from destruction.
The record traces typhoon Maria from the evening of the 10th 8pm to the morning of the 11th 11am.

今年8號颱風瑪莉亞於4日晚間形成，氣象局在9日夜間發布海上警報。10日天上午持續逼近台灣，北部、東北部。
住在北部的我，除了準備乾糧以外，還準備記錄這次颱風移動的痕跡。在陽台懸吊著一隻鉛筆，由塑膠袋帶動鉛筆，將颱風行徑記錄在畫紙上。
記錄颱風瑪莉亞從10日晚間8時至11日上午11時的襲擊的痕跡。
