298cm x 40cm
Cotton bed sheet, corn starch, soy sauce, pu’er tea, strawberry, blueberry, buckthorn juice, cabbage, tumeric, vinegar, salt, soda powder, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, spinach

My work is a long scroll portrait of my kitchen counter with all kinds of bottles and things that I have needed for cooking during the quarantine. I painted on an old bed sheet that I modified into a 296cm long canvas, as I did not find any other method of making a long scroll in a short time. Upon making some research online I found out how to turn the purple color of boiled cabbage into different shades of pink, blue and brown by adding salt, soda, lemon juice and vinegar and accidentally burning it. I made all colors and glue of edible ingredients, which means my painting is completely biodegradable (although this means that I could not reproduce all colors that I would have wanted). I worked on two tables in the living room of the 45 m2 one-room apartment that I share with my partner, which is also our kitchen.
